Saturday Morning Musings

Jeremiah 32:17 “Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:”

There have always been and there will always be those Pharisees that try to trip up the children of God. They think deeply on questions that cast doubt and challenge our knowledge of God. I have such questions as:

“Could God make a rock so heavy He could not lift it?”

And I would reply:

Mark 10:27 “And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.”

God could never go against His Word or He would be a liar like you and me.

Romans 3:4 “God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.”

From the beginning of time, Lucifer has wore the bumper sticker “Question Authority”. One of his first questions, “Hath God said?” cast doubt in the heart of Eve and he never looked back. Because we do not know the God of Heaven as we should, questions that have biblical answers become the foundation for Satan’s lies.

The answers needed to combat the devil’s lies can only be found through personal bible reading, study, meditation and memorization.

2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

It has been said that a casual approach to your Christianity will open the door for you to become a casualty. Knowing God; His character, His promises, His love toward us, who we are in Christ, can truly give us an arsenal of weapons upon an enemy who knows every Word of the Bible to be true.

I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the more you know God, the bigger He becomes. The more you know God, the more your faith will increase. The more you know, the greater peace, the greater confidence that you and I can possess.

Knowing Satan is a defeated foe (past tense intended), and we, victorious in the end gives me great confidence that God will me through any and every challenge I face. He will allow the greater struggles and trials to be for my learning. He takes me through each and every valley, walks me over every mountain, sits by my side in every storm. There is not a moment that He is not with me.

If I ever feel as though I am alone, “I” am the one who left His presence – not Him. His love is constant; not so fickle as to be given conditionally like we love. Search Him out and see if you can find a flaw. You will not. You cannot. For if you think that there may be a chink in His armour, you are wrong.

Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”

Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

Grow in the faith that the God of Heaven can provide if we but live in His presence and see just how good, how lovely, how wonderful, how amazing, how beautiful, how holy, how lovely!
