Romans 8:17-18 “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
Daylight Savings – Spring ahead; fall back. Today, we lost an hour and gain more sunlight for our day. But how many will gain the Son-light, that comes from living in His Word? It is available every morning. It awaits you and me like those comfortable slippers or favorite sweater.
Many say, “I’m just not a morning person”. Would you be if you went to bed earlier? I truly get the work of those on 2nd and 3rd shift, but our minds and our bodies have an internal clock. At times, that clock runs contrary to what most folks would call normal. Special projects, worrisome nights, crying babies, and the inability to turn our brain off to sleep are just some of the issues we deal with regarding our sleep.
Why such a lengthy explanation? Because many of us justify our crankiness; our bad attitude; our shortness in our dealings with others on the situation and circumstance of what is fully in our control.
The promise in Romans 8, is a favorite passage of mine and relates to the attitude we have available to us in any and every circumstance.
It reminds me that I have a place of royalty with my Father in Heaven. I have a position of importance in the eyes of my God. I am considered to stand alongside Jesus Christ Himself to inherit some of what He does. All of which I did not deserve nor did I earn. It was given me of my Father. I truly am blessed.
You may be a bit groggy as your body adjusts to its new time and schedule. Amidst the hurriedness of your day, stop to thank Him for the preparation He has made not just for today, but for all eternity!
