Proverbs 12:15 “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.”
You can tell a know-it-all, but, you can’t tell them much.
We have all heard from a know-it-all. They have experiences beyond human capacity, They have stories for every subject. They have the uncanny ability to top any story with one more fantastic than the last. They are always right and cannot be told different.
The ability for anyone seeking wisdom to gain more is always there.
James 1:5-6 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all menliberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.”
I have to challenge myself to go beyond what I do know to seek that which is still hidden. Gaining knowledge for knowledge’s sake though, is not good.
1 Corinthians 8:1-3 “Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth. And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know. But if any man love God, the same is known of him.”
Take the challenge today to grow in knowledge of God.
