1 Peter 4:7-8 “But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.”
There is not a person on the face of this earth that can live without love.
Why is it so important?
Love is the greatest virtue
1 Corinthians 13:13 “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.”
LOVE supercedes all other virtues. We need to covet the love we have for our Lord, the love we are to have for one another, and the love for the lost.
Love is the greatest command
Matthew 22:37-38 “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.”
Love is the greatest testimony
1 John 4:21 “And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.”
It is not the size or beauty of the building we build that will draw people to our God. It is not our impecable standards. It is not the music, the charism of the preacher or the wealth of the church.
The way we love God and show love toward others is what will draw others to Christ. Nothing can motivate a sinner more than the true, hearfelt love of the saints given without measure, and without partiality, prejudice or preference.
When you and I are able to convey that love to a hurting heart, a wounded heart, a grieving heart; we can allow God to love through us. When we share the love that God has for their lost condition and lead them to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, we can snatch one from the snare of the devil and cause the angels in Heaven to rejoice in the presence of our God.
Take that love with you as you travel to your place of worship today. Show that love to someone God reveals needs most to hear it and you can be that change agent for good in the life of someone today!
