Jeremiah 17:9-10 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.”
Just a short thought to meditate on today…
If my heart – my meditator – is so deceitful (above ALL things), and desperately wicked, why would I trust anything that goes on between my two ears?
God is the only one who knows my heart the best. To be able to forsake my thoughts, my emotions, my experiences and all my teaching to fully and wholly trust the Lord takes faith enough to forsake all for God and His way over mine every time.
Thanks be to God we have His Word to check each and every thought.
Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things arehonest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
We want control. Because when we are in control, we deceive ourselves into thinking that we can control the outcome. Not so with God…
Galatians 6:7-8 “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”
As you meditate on these things today, I welcome your comments.
