Ezekiel 33:7 “So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.”
I am truly thankful for the man who took the time to show my from the Bible that the way I was on was leading to Hell.
It was not a ‘religion bashing’ session of what was wrong, but of the One, true Way in Jesus Christ.
John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
There is no adding to or taking from that truth – Jesus is the only way.
He shared with me the dangers of trusting my works for salvation.
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Titus 3:5 “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;”
After the meeting, we had that shared more than 30 verses that pointed my soul to Christ and Christ alone. I went home heavy hearted. Over the next 48 hours, the Holy Spirit reminded me of the fact that if I died, I would go to Hell.
It all finally came to a head when I was brought to a decision point by God. I saw clearly that without Christ, my soul would be swallowed up in Hell forever. It was not an accusation made the man that warned me; or because of the church I attended at the time, or the things I was doing – God convicted me.
Today, the resistance to giving the gospel is increasing worldwide. The persecution growing against us will come.
John 15: 18-19 “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.”
We see the suffering of Christ and our gratitude for what He took for us ovewhelms us. But truly, we will not escape – IF we do as we are commanded.
We are to be witnesses. Each of us as a child of God, has a testimony of how we came to Christ. It is a story we need to tell any and all that will listen. The problem is that not all will listen. Not all will accept.
Our job is to warn them.
The fruit of their decision is up to God – He brings the increase.
The key element of our witness is not experiential, or emotional – it is biblical.
Romans 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Saving faith comes by the Word of God.
We must use scripture in our witness – it is God’s tool for opening hearts to hear the truth.
Warn them. Give a gospel tract. Tell them. Warn them. Why?…
Because Hell is real!
