Psalms 116:15 “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.”
To us, there are few things ‘precious’ about death.
My father has been in hospice since a stroke took his sight and he has not improved since that time. Just this last Thursday, they told us that he had about a week to live and we should prepare for his departure.
My father is a saved man. He trusted Jesus Christ as his savior almost 15 years ago. His eternal destiny was settled. The prayers are for our family.
My Dad was a strong influence in our home. I will probably write more later as to the lessons learned, wisdom gained and much laughter shared, but for now we are staying close until God comes for him.
I shared with my brother recently, that he will be missed and he said that he will miss calling and talking politics with Dad. I shared with him a thought God gave me that we will be the dad our children come to now.
Sobering thought when that mantle gets passed.
I post this as I head out to sit at his bedside. None of us wanted Dad to die alone. We wanted him to know that we are there with him and for him.
Thank you dear readers fo allowing me to share these personal times with you and know that your prayers are much coveted.
God Bless you and yours!
