Partake in the Divine

2 Peter 1:4Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”

From the counsel in Heaven where the plan of salvation began, to the stable where the Christ child was born to the cross and the empty tomb; we are given such wonderful and precious promises!

On this special day; set aside around the world to recognize the Savior’s birth, I reflect on the blessings we have been so blessed to partake. June 18th, 2018 marked 28 years since trusting Christ as Savior. I have been kept, blessed and used by my Father to be to others what He desired.

We have suffered the loss of my Dad. He was the model of a real man. His post-depression era upbringing gave him an outlook on life that scrimped, saved and made do with what we had, but also appreciative of the little things. His love and focus on family carried over to each of us children and to our grandchildren.

I was blessed to have presided over my uncle’s wedding to his sweetheart. At 82, he found a wonderful companion and we are blessed to have her.

We are in the middle of our church’s building project that will provide a school and gymnasium to our growing church. Knowing it is going to be used to reach more people for Christ is a worthy investment.

I have seen addicts come to grips with their issues and get the help they so desperately needed. Being used of God to walk with someone closer to God is a special priviledge. Whether it was words of encouragement, comfort, healing or even correction; God has used us in so many ways this year.

Through each and everything that happened, knowing that it was God in us and God through us to touch the lives of others makes it so very special. I know that I ccould never have done these things on my own. That is why I realize so clearly that it was God doing the work, speaking the needful words, and being present at a time designed to be the most help.

This Christmas, let us give thanks for being used by Him to reflect a Light the eminates from God through us to others. We can enjoy the peace, love, joy an happiness that comes from God through simple obedience.

Let us focus on listening with hearts desiring and depending on Him. Take some time today to thank Him for the priviledge ond honor to be used in such a manner!

Merry Christmas to you and yours!
