Isaiah 53:5-7 “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.”
He did it all for me.
Jesus Christ gave the ultimate sacrifice – His life – for us to go free. What He suffered; what He endured; the pain, the agony, the shame, the mockery, the cruel and violent beating and then to be rejected by the very people you came to save…
In our living for Christ we are saying we accept His sacrifice and are willing to live as He prescribed. But I know when I pull back and shrink from the very thing He has called me to do, it is as if I am crying; “Crucify Him!” right along with the Jews.
Our disobedience to what God has called us to do is the spittle in His face; the whip across His back; the nails in His hands and feet, and the crown of thorns on His brow. I come in direct opposition to what it is He meant for me to be as a saved child of God.
Take some time to meditate on the fulfilling of the Lord’s will in our life. How selfish we become when we reject His good, and acceptable, and perfect will for our lives.
Come under the umbrella of His blessing. Find the comfort under the shadow of His wings.
