Isaiah 59:12-14 “For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them; In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.”
There is a word not often spoken in the churches today. Is it that we seek to maintain appearances? To appear righteous when we are genuinely in need of a cleansing?
Isaiah 64:6 “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”
The Bible and it’s standard show me over and over again that I cannot and will not measure up to the standard God has set for me. Yet, in knowing that, I see His love set upon me. For He never wanted me to stay that way.
Repentance comes from a heart that cherishes cleanness, holiness, righteousness, and purity. Every child of God obtained that at salvation. We received the pure, perfect righteousness of Jesus Christ. It was imputed unto us through the blood shed for us on the cross.
Repentance grows up out of a desire to come before a holy God; worthy. The one element that is missing when repentance is not practiced is humility. I must humble myself before God. When I genuinely see Him for who He is, and myself for what I have done; I cannot help but notice that all my righteousnesses are as filthy rags.
Humility is the door through which we all must pass. Looking into a real mirror – one that reveals the truth – is an absolute must. The Word of God is that mirror. Without it, we see what we want to see.
Judgment is clouded, and the truth is fallen in the streets. The power of the Bible is castrated when the very people who claim it for salvation forsake it and choose to be in opposition to it.
Many view the world around us and wonder if God has died. Does God care? Is He even interested in the trials and tribulations of those oppressed, persecuted and martyred? Staying faithful to Him takes willpower that is born out of love and indebtedness.
We see all around us the violence, the oppression, the seeming advancement of evil. Where is the justice? Will God ever reveal Himself and save us from such things as we experience today?
Around the world, our enemy is trying to silence the voice that cries for justice, truth and equity to return. Yet, God shows us that it begins in the heart of His people; those who name the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
It is through the door of humility and repentance that truth, justice, equity, morality, purity, love, peace, joy, and happiness will return. What better place to find it than through the doors of every Christian church?
Sadly, this is where our enemy has leveled his most potent attack.
Without a humble, repentant, and fervent church, we are rendered powerless when we have the All-powerful One as our Father. We, the church, have at our command the very ear of the Creator if we would ever choose to call upon Him.
Jeremiah 33:3 “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”
We all fall short.
Realizing that, we can encourage one another to come to God and receive the very forgiveness and cleansing needed to enter into His presence and gain the power, protection, provision, and path I should go.
We must take up our place as soldiers; advancing the kingdom one soul at a time. We should never fear to speak up for Him, to tell others how to receive the very freedom we now enjoy. We have the solution for those in bondage to sins this world traps us in. We have light to shine in the darkness. We have hope for those in despair. We have the love for those feeling as if they are the outcasts of society.
We should have no fear for our lives. For if our enemy would seek to kill us, Heaven awaits those for whom this world was not worthy.
So, stand child of God!
Stand in the light of His presence knowing our souls have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ to draw nigh unto the Omnipotent One; the Omniscient One; the Omnipresent One.
Be humble. Be clean. Be close and be filled
