Lamentations 1:12 “Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.”
I have heard it said that your spirituality can be measured by what or whom we are willing to walk past.
Yet, today, we will walk by those who possibly need to hear the gospel one more time before they pass from this life. Others could use just one word of encouragement to keep them from wholly giving up on living altogether. Still others may just need a smile as an acknowledgement of their existence to keep from going down a dark path.
All of us have, at one time or another in our life, had a moment where we wondered if anyone really cares.
If we can be the one who initiates the caring, I truly believe that God will meet our needs as well.
Look around you today… Ask God if there is anyone He would have you to speak to, pray for or encourage. Invite someone to your home. Take them out for lunch. Write a short note letting them know you care. Ask them to pray with you.
There are so many small gestures that we can do for one another that could sustain the body of Christ… if we would just take that first step.
Happy Lord’s Day! See you in church.
