Luke 20:25And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which be Caesar’s, and unto God the things which be God’s.”

Control versus Stewardship.

That is the battle of the day. It is in our nature to want to control our environment, our circumstances, and the results of our choices.

We are told that to be happy, we need to be healthy. Much money is being spent on exercise equipment, gym memberships, supplements, and surgeries to look our best. Yet, for the billions of dollars spent, we’re not much better. God knew:

1 Timothy 4:8For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.”

The exercise of possessing godly character, and a sweet spirit, is far more desirable than six-pack abs and a bloating bank account. But there seems to be an underlying principle that we so easily forget.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

In accepting Jesus Christ as my Savior, I became the purchased possession of God.  I am reminded;

“…ye are not your own

I am no longer the one in control. The free will given me by my God, allows me to show my love for Him by relinquishing the powers of my life to Him.

All that was in my control as an unsaved person now comes under the umbrella of God’s ownership of which He makes us stewards. What we do with what has been given is now our responsibility.

We need to provide for the family. Food, clothing, and shelter do not come cheap. But, one of the most amazing things about my God is that He gave me a Book that outlines every facet of this life and how to live it.

Today, as you ready yourself for your workweek, take into account the life you are living is now under new management. The ‘boss’ wants to see fruit from that which He possesses. He has given each of us gifts and talents to do amazing things when in submission to His power and His will.
