Revelation 12:10-11 “And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
We are overcomers.
1 John 4:4 “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”
There is but one requirement to become an overcomer.
1 John 5:4-5 “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?”
When all is revealed, we will finally see the results of our faith. We will see that it was impossible to get to Heaven any other way.
John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
To be settled in this truth, and confident enough to stand against the oppression and opposition that comes when we stand, allows us to see the deliverance, the protection, and the promises of God. Christianity is not for sissies.
John Foxe wrote “Foxes Book of Martyrs” that chronicles the lives of those wholly sold out to stand for their faith. Countless hundreds of thousands died for their faith. The persecution they suffered paved the way for the evangelization that was to go round the world literally.
It also reveals the truth of denominational religion and its persecution of biblical Christianity. J.M. Carroll wrote, “Trail of Blood” that links Foxe’s book to more present day. It pulls the covers off of what has been erased from our history books.
The Book of the Revelation chronicles what is yet to come. It seems almost surreal. The utter destruction of the earth. The fantastical creatures. The imagery of the spiritual world is open to our world in the form of judgments poured out on the planet.
The one thing that stands true through all of this is that our testimony has power. It is irrefutable because it is yours, personally. No one knows your testimony like you. No one can refute it. That is powerful enough.
There will be those who will wish to silence that testimony. Those who are deeply convicted of quashing what tears at the world they’ve tried to create for themselves. Man works so hard to control his environment, and limit the variables that ‘rock the boat.’
Try as we may, we cannot control what we think we can, and God will break through to get us to see His love for us and desire to see us saved. Oh, that we would yield to the Holy Spirit’s leading. First, to be saved, then to live the life God created for us to live.
The saved, child of God will find no greater joy and peace as when they are utilizing their gifts and talents for the Lord. When we find our purpose in life – what we were created to do – we will experience a calm that comes only from God.
Today, you may be unsettled, uneasy, even searching. Know this, that only in Christ will you, and I find real joy, peace, love, and happiness.
See you in church!
