Matthew 10:29-31 “Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.”
Situation and circumstance happen to all. How we handle each one as they come matters. Often, one’s upbringing may be less than desirable. Neglect or abuse is being reported more and more. In those situations, one person may value their life more than another and begin to exert power over the other.
A child of God has a special relationship open to them. To know the value we are to the Father matters significantly. Ultimately, I am worth the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus. Not because I say, but God.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Because He loved, He gave. Our love springs forth from His love.
1 John 4:19 “We love him, because he first loved us.”
My Heavenly Father’s thoughts toward me are good, not evil.
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Psalm 139:17-18 “How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.”
Our minds and what we think will ultimately determine who we are.
Proverbs 23:7 “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.”
Our enemy, the devil, works hard to keep us from the truth. If we know the truth of who we are in Jesus Christ, we have power. Power to call upon in times of need. Promises to call upon when we see the situation as impossible.
Today, take with you that you are of more value than any other living creature on the face of the earth – no matter what you did. As a child of God, my sins will not be brought up again by God to hash and rehash or be used to hold them over me.
Hebrews 8:12 “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.”
Hebrews 10:17 “And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.”
It is the devil who is the “Accuser of the Brethren.” He will take and remind us, at the most vulnerable time, that we are unworthy. We must remind ourselves that though we may be unworthy of the love, grace, and mercy that has been extended to us by our Heavenly Father, we are NOT worthless.
God saw in us something worth sending His Son. We must take that to heart every time we sin. The blood on the mercy seat in Heaven is there to prove that we are worthy. Jesus stands as our Advocate to plead our case before the Father.
1 John 2:1-2 “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”
If there are voices that beat at your soul, lift the shield of faith against it and do combat with the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God. You are an overcomer, child of God!
1 John 4:4 “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”
