Psalm 16:11 “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”
Path of life.
Fulness of Joy.
Pleasure for evermore.
Who wouldn’t stand in line for that?!
For the child of God, we already have that and more! Often, we fail to read and comprehend just what it is we have in Jesus Christ. We do not need to flounder in the sea of trouble or walk a dark path. We can take the hand of our Savior and allow Him to lead us along the way He’s chosen for us before the world’s foundation.
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.“
Many a child of God fails to see the promises and blessings already given.
Malachi 3:10 “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”
It comes with a command – tithing. Giving God a tenth of all our increase will open Heaven’s windows for the blessings to fall. Tithing is not some “give and get” or “name it and claim it” scheme of God. It is a lesson in thankfulness and gratitude.
All things come from God. It may seem that we worked hard for that paycheck, but it comes down to this.
God endued us with the strength, the opportunity, the intellect, and the favor needed to have the job we now possess. Any increase we experience comes from Him.
Proverbs 3:9 “Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:”
He asks us for a tenth for His church to operate appropriately. But this is not about money.
It is not about pleasure, fame, or power.
I genuinely believe it is about being in His presence.
It was God’s plan all along to redeem us unto Himself.
Ephesians 1:4-6 “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.”
Titus 2:13-14 “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”
Our enemy will try to get our eyes off the Savior and the path He has chosen to follow. He distorts the truth to make it seem that it is God’s fault we failed and that He’s the one to blame.
Jesus told us:
Matthew 7:7-8 “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”
We know also:
Philippians 4:19 “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
We can say we know these truths, yet we still struggle. Faith is placing our trust that God will do what He says He will do. We get to the end of human strength before we ever bow a knee to ask for help.
Often, we find that we have gone down the wrong path and used up much of the needed strength to accomplish what God desired in the first place.
Today, let us vow to begin our days to come first in the presence of the One with the blueprint for our day and then invite Him to guide us through all He designed for us to accomplish.
