Can You See?

Ezekiel 3:17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.”

Social distancing.

Isolation.

In this past year, much of our lives have been lived separately from one another. We shy away from interacting with one another for fear of infection or contamination of an unseen foe.

The warnings have been sounded. Masks are worn. Tests are taken, and the drums regularly beat of those newly infected and the increasing death toll.

But there is a far more deadly foe that has been present all along.

Sin.

Untreated, the individual will die physically as all do. But the most horrific consequences await an eternal destiny. The Creator of the universe has set the price for sin at death.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death…”

Death physically, yes. But there is also a spiritual death one will experience without the cure—separation from God.

The place for this sentence to be carried out is more terrifying than any human being can imagine.

Darkness forever.

Fire forever.

Weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth, forever.

Worms invading your body, forever.

And most finally – no escape – forever!

For many reading today, you have been inoculated with the only antidote for its devastating effects – the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Without it, eternal punishment and penalty lie wholly with the individual infected.

Romans 6:23 “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

For those of us who have found the cure, we are commanded to go out and find those infected, tell them of the cure we’ve found, and bring them to the Great Physician who will inoculate them at their request.

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

For someone to have found the antidote for cancer, Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism, keeping it hidden, or selfishly hoard it for private use is unconscionable.

We, who have found salvation in Jesus Christ, are commanded by the One who gave the cure to tell all of the tremendous healing power that we now possess. Failing to do so will incur a bloody sentence upon us.

Ezekiel 3:18-19 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.”

We are admonished to be a constant and consistent witness.

1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear

Upon our death, we will pass on to the residence of the redeemed. A place of light, life, and be with the One who paid the ultimate price for our entrance to this incredible home. Our Heavenly Father paid the ultimate price in the giving of His Son, Jesus. His heart’s cry is to not let one soul die without the opportunity to hear about the cure.

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

The stage is set.

Mansions are being prepared.

All prophecies are fulfilled for the return of the Messiah.

To think of facing the One who paid our sin’s debt and yet failing to tell others brings shame to my heart.

In the Book of Revelation, we get a glimpse of what that day may look like.

Revelation 20:11-15 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

We will be there to witness every soul’s damnation to Hell. Can we meet our family members’ eyes have received the cure and yet have utterly failed to tell them of the coming judgment? Our neighbors, coworkers, and those we pass by every day?

We must see every person as a soul for whom Christ died. In that manner, we can open our mouths to tell them of the wondrous love, mercy, and forgiveness we’ve found in the Lord Jesus Christ!

    1. Thanks for the like-minded share! It is so very hard when sharing the gospel to see it fall on seemingly deaf ears. Yet, God said Hid Word would not return void. We must consistent and constant in our gospel witness and allow God to work on their hearts so that they will be without excuse and we won’t have blood on our hands for being silent.
