Acts 4:19-20 “But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”
If you were called to give witness of the evidence of God, what would that look like?
Many could say the spirit of worship and base it on the music.
Others would say it was the increase in attendance.
Still, others would say the truth of the preaching was with power.
Peter and John had the lame man made whole with no other explanation other than “Look what God did!”
The new year brings resolve and resolutions to do more of the good and less of the bad. It affords us to decide to live more healthy. We desire to add more wealth, prosperity, friends, and fruit to our lives. We see the results of wrong decisions and the desire to change.
If we, as children of God, are to be witnesses to a lost and dying world of the power of God, what evidence can we show them?
Have we witnessed to someone already this year and tried to open their hearts to the gospel? Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
Have we given to the work of God to further mission work around the world? Matthew 28:19-20 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Do we have a plan to live more holy this year than in the past? 1 Peter 1:16 “Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” And when we do, what will that look like?
For many, we know that we are living in the last days. Christ’s return is imminent. If we believe this to be true, why would we choose relaxation and pleasure over service?
May we resolve to be different in our daily approach every day to affect our lives.
