Space of Grace

Revelation 6:9-10 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?”

Good Morning! Happy Saturday.

Reading this today, I cannot help but think that some would think this a story line for a movie instead of actual events yet to come. But, come they will.

With regards to prophecy, there is nothing hindering the imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ as He predicted. Jesus awaits the Father’s bidding, “Son, go get your bride.”

For many, we’ve termed this event, the rapture of the church. In it, the dead in Christ will rise first and all those who are born-again children of God will be caught away, ever to be with the Lord.

Today’s passage speaks of a coming judgment; God’s wrath poured out on unbelievers.

We cannot fathom the unspeakable horrors that will come upon mankind at that time. Judgment will come in the form of earthquakes, pestilence, famine, stars falling from the sky, and death will come to all who do not trust Jesus as Savior.

While that hasn’t happened as yet, we are living in a space of grace. That space is God’s longsuffering; and opportunity to repent and get back to a right relationship with our Heavenly Father.

What we read in the book of Revelation should motivate us to do something instead of neglecting and ignoring as if it will never happen. Jesus said that day will come as a thief in the night.

When it does, it will be too late.

If you are saved, then we should take heed to be about our Father’s business.
