John 1:12-13 “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
The One and only way into Heaven is through a person.
John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
To try any other way will end badly.
John 10:7-8 “Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.”
Some think it an inheritance. Others try to obtain it by the strength of their hand or diligence of duty. God wanted it to be the one and only way offered freely by grace.
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
We are beginning to see the fruits of our garden. Seeds that were planted have sprouted and began to grow. Starter plants have taken hold, and we see the beginnings of a good year.
The increase we see in anything matters because of the seeds we plant.
A plant seed will yield plants.
It cannot ever become animal life or human life. It will always be a plant.
The animal seed will always grow to become an animal. No matter how obedient, loyal, and faithful that animal becomes, it can never become human or plant.
A human seed will always bear another human, not a plant or animal. But no matter how religious that human tries to be, it can never become spiritual. That is a work of God.
Nicodemus came to Jesus by night because his heart was open to the truth. But something puzzled him. Jesus told him he must be born again.
John 3:4 “Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?”
Then, Jesus reveals the truth more clearly.
John 3:5-7 “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”
The seed from which every human being will become a child of God is the Word of God.
Luke 8:11 “Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.”
The parable of the sower and the seed illustrates for us the recipe for salvation. The only controlling factor is the condition of the soil – our heart. If the Word of God is sown in hearts like the wayside of a road, it is quickly snatched away and never germinates.
If it lands on a rock, it may sprout, but having no roots, it will wither away very soon.
If it lands on the ground infested with weeds, it may grow for a time but will be choked out by the weeds.
Only on cultivated, de-weeded soil and ready to receive the seed will it grow profitably.
Luke 8:15 “But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.”
Many criticize because they see corruptible fruit in the lives of God’s children. It has nothing to do with the seed. It has everything to do with the heart.
1 Peter 1:23 “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”
God gave every one of us the free will to choose. We are given the truth and must weigh the facts of every decision. Ultimately, the choice is ours to make.
God made His statement on the cross and signed it with the empty tomb.
It ultimately lies in the condition of our hearts. The tradition of men blinds us and puts us into bondage. Religion deceives us into thinking we must have a part in saving ourselves.
Anything added to or taken away from God’s pure, perfect Word is in danger of the curse proclaimed.
Revelation 22:18-19 “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”

2 Corinthians 6:2 “(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)”
Hebrews 2:3-4 “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?”
